2025 Committee Appointment and Application Process With Tim Weisheyer and Chuck Bonfiglio, Jr. TRT: 4m 40s Video Transcription Tim Weisheyer and Chuck Bonfiglio, Jr. seated in Florida Realtors studio. Tim addresses camera: We want to talk to you real quick about the committee selection process is going to be opening up very soon. We want to share with you maybe some tips and recommendations not only for yourself, but also in the process that we'll be going through and making selections. Number one, I want to kind of lead off with the idea of some words that you've heard me talk about you're going to continue to hear with your character, competency, courage and commitment. So as you're thinking about where it is you're going to serve in Florida Realtors®, I want to make sure that you embody those four “Cs” in your selection process, because it'll be really important to our ability to make sure we help you get into the right position to serve in the best way possible. Chuck, why don't you share a little bit about timelines and what's going to happen over the next, I guess, few months, Really? Chuck adresses camera: So March 1st is when the when the committee selection opens and May 15th is when it closes. So you have March to May of 2024. So you got a few months. But you know, I'm thinking this this is probably one of the best times of the year, Tim, where the members get fully engaged with where they want to serve the organization for the following year. Tim addresses camera: So let's talk about a couple of maybe tips or recommendations for you. Number one, you heard me say earlier about competency, make sure you're picking a committee that you are truly competent in, something you have experience in. Something that you could walk in day one and know that you can contribute to the conversation and ultimately help us get to the best decision, the best outcome for our association and the members that we serve. Number two is be willing to walk in the room and have courage. Be willing to speak up and use your voice. We are not looking for people to just serve on committees to fill up their resumé or to be in the committees that you think are the most important. And then, Chuck, maybe talk a little bit about maybe the tiering of the committees as well and making sure you're making the right selections for yourself so that we can help make sure we get you into the right position for effectiveness. Chuck addresses camera: You have five choices, right? So you're supposed to rank number one as obviously the one that you could be the most proficient in and have the expertise and bring the knowledge to move the organization forward. And then on down to five. But there are different tier levels that we that we like to consider, right? So some of the ones that are thrown out is: Finance, You know, Public Policy, Exec., NAR Strat ( NAR Strategy ). Those are the type of committees that you need a certain experience and education because things in those committees move pretty fast and they're arguably have the most impact on our organization in a short amount of time. Right. It's not to say that others are less important, which I absolutely not. I mean, all the committees together run our organization. However, to Tim's point is you have to be knowledgeable in what you're talking about, right? You have to be prepared. Tim addresses camera: We want you to understand that with all the people that are applying for these committees, sometimes it really is a difficult decision and process to say who is ultimately going to be able to fill those seats. There's not enough seats in every committee for everyone, so be very intentional about what you pick, where your expertise lies and how you rank them. And then we'll do the best we can to make sure we get you in the best committee to ultimately accomplish the goals and mission of the organization. Chuck addresses camera: The accessibility part, right. How do you get noticed? How do we know that you'd serve other than just seeing your name and some words on a paper? Right. So, look, we pride ourselves on being accessible, so call us text us. Email us, any time. However, there's another component. You know, you can visit these committees, you can ask questions afterwards. You can talk to the liaison for the committee. Those are all good resources for you to possibly move into those areas. And then the accountability part comes in where, hey, we were elected to do the work for Florida Realtors® first and foremost. So the accountability part part comes in where we have to make these selections. And unfortunately, not every we can't fill every seat with every appointment that that everyone applies for. Tim addresses camera: So let's say this, number one, thank you for your willingness to serve. Number two, please make sure you're paying attention to the email that's coming out so you can apply for the committee. Number three, make sure you're ranking those committee selections in the best way possible, being very mindful of the tiers that exist and which committees you're really willing, ready and able to step in on day one and be a leader within. You are a very vital part of our leadership team and this entire leadership of the organization. So your involvement, your willingness to serve at the committee level is vital to our success as an organization. So thank you. We look forward to working with you. As I said, we're always available. We're always going to work to be accessible to you and remember that we're always approachable. So stop. Say hi to us, make sure we know what's going on and make sure that we're doing the best we can to serve you in the best way possible. So you'll see us around. Give us a little fist bump when you see us. Make sure you know that we're accessible and we're great for you willing to serve. Thank you.
