2026 Committee Appointments Invitation With Chuck Bonfiglio, Jr. and Jorge Guerra, Jr. TRT: 3m 48s Video Transcription Chuck Bonfiglio and Jorge Guerra on screen directly addressing camera: Chuck: Hi, I'm Chuck Bonfiglio, your 2026 President for Florida Realtors®. And today we wanted to talk to you about the committee structure and what we've all got out of it and what you can get out of it. I learned early on, the giving back is so important to our industry, which is why I decided long time ago to get involved in committee work. What you get out of the committee work is you understand the inner workings of Florida Realtors® and how we can make a positive impact to all our members that we serve. Jorge: My name is Jorge Guerra. I am your 2026 President-Elect for Florida Realtors®. And as I reflect on my committee service, a couple things stand out. Number one was really the relationships that I built while serving in that committee. Number two was really finding who was the smartest person in the room, seeing what they would bring in to the committee, but more importantly, seeing how that affected our industry. And I thought that was very powerful. Chuck: Looking ahead to 2026 committee service. It's important that we as volunteer leaders focus on where we can make the greatest positive impact. Time is one of our most valuable assets. Service to others to committee work must demonstrate strong character, competence and commitment. Jorge: Florida Realtors® has three tiers of committees permitting committees, standing committees, and our legislative think tanks. The first tier are the permanent committees. These committees are mandated by Florida Realtors® association bylaws, and they also include the Executive Committee. The Finance Committee, Strategic Planning, and a few others. There are limited numbers of spots to appoint on these committees. The second tier are the standing committees. Communication, Diversity and Professional Development are a few examples. Standing committees are approved by the Board of Directors each year. The final tier is the ten Think Tanks. The Think Tanks strategize on all the issues impacting our industry legally and legislatively. Chuck: Take the time to identify where your interests and expertise helps move the association forward. Align your request for volunteer service with expertise. That alignment will increase productivity, improve results, and committee work. Jorge: To serve through Florida Realtors®, you need to know when to apply and where you can offer your best services. Florida Realtors® 2026 committee requests will open March 3rd and will close on May 15th. This mirrors the NAR committee appointment windows, as volunteers, mark your calendars and submit your state and national request during that time. Members must apply by the May 15th deadline. This is an important first step in getting a committee appointment. Vice chair applications align your expertise and your experience with committees you are requesting. Chuck: There are a limited number of appointments, so ranking your number one and number two choices is critically important. You know it's also important to actually formally apply in writing. Every year we receive multiple verbal requests after appointments have been made, and in some cases after the committee has started its work. These requests will be considered on a case by case basis. But please keep in mind that we may not be able to approve your request. Our greatest strength is you. Help us the best team on the court by applying for the committee, think tank, or vice chair position that will best serve our members and our profession. On behalf of President-Elect Jorge, and the rest of the leadership team. We look forward to serving with you next year. Thank you.
